Feed your skin
The secret of beautiful glowing skin is the nourishment it requires to stay healthy. Beauty treatments can give good results but cannot have a long lasting effect. For naturally beautiful skin, certain nutrients are required that keep the skin healthy and supple.
Collagen fibers are responsible for the skin’s elasticity and youth. With increasing age the collagen fibers become rigid and the skin develops wrinkles and begins to sag. This can happen at a premature age, if collagen is destroyed by free radicals. The free radicals are increased in body due to consumption of smoked or reused oils, lack of nutrients, and toxins in the blood (from smoking, drugs, pesticides and lead poisoning). Besides harming skin, these free radicals are also responsible for a number of diseases including cancer.
Antioxidants (Vitamins A, E and C, and polyphenols) take care of excess free radicals in the body. The best sources of these nutrients are provided in a list below. These are the top skin foods, and if you eat them regularly, you can stop worrying about your skin problems and ageing!
