Safe Bathing for Newborns

A newborn is very delicate. Her head has to be supported all the time as she is yet to develop the strength to balance her head on her neck. Bathing a newborn is therefore difficult, if you do not have a properly designed bath tub or a seat to support the baby while you bathe her, and you need to use one hand to support and the other to bathe.

Getting a comfortable baby bath seat for newborns is very easy and there are a range of safety bath products for babies available today.

Some of the bathing seats below have good design to comfortably support the baby while you have your hands free. Click on the pictures to read more details.

Here are some important safety measures to be taken care of while bathing your baby:

  • Never leave your infant unattended in the bath tub / seat.
  • Always check the temperature of the water to be used to bathe your infant. It should be just warm.
  • The baby bath seat should be well balanced and preferably placed in a baby bath tub.
  • The baby soap, body wash, shampoo and towel should be kept within reach while bathing the baby.
