Padmaja Duvvuri – Arete Technologies
I’m a mother of two children aged 12 and 5.
I’m from Navi Mumbai. By qualification I am a double MBA in IT and HR. Incidentally, I pursued both of my MBA degrees full time after my marriage. Also, I’m fortunate to get selected by ISB as one amongst 10,000 women to be empowered with a management program by Goldman Sach’s -ISB.
I’m running an IT company for the last 9 years and offer IT solutions (web, software and multimedia solutions) and business consultancy. I also write on www.pathtopinnacle.blogspot.com and www.mazalu.blogspot.com
I am very keen on imparting my knowledge to the needy and empowering more people on the path to pinnacle. I am therefore very active on women networks like HEN India Network on Facebook, 10000 women on LinkedIn, and I am also in process of becoming a mentor for an NGO.
I am the Owner & Director of Arete Technologies Pvt. Ltd. – IT Business Systems, Application Development/Operations, Websites and more.
As a person I like to be myself – happy, free and flying high with my dreams.
I am a sweet gal who loves chocolates. I am woman who is very much feminine. I am a mother who loves her children. I am a wife who is blessed to have such a lovely husband. Of course I do have some concerns too, like I wonder what I, and the world, will be like in the year 2020. I want the adventure of life before it passes me by. I pretend that I’m the ruler of the world. I feel the weight of the world on my shoulders. I worry about the devastation by a natural calamity. I cry for all the death and poverty in the world. I understand the frustration of not being able to do something easily. I feel that we are all equal.
I dream of traveling to other points on the earth. I try to reach out to poor and needy.
I hope that mankind will be at peace and not die out.
I was…different, lost, confused, awkward, scared, alone & lonely, hurt, volcanic, searching for answers, without knowing the questions.
But now I am…curious, questioning, more sure of myself
not lonely or alone, calm, more introspective, less scared
still awkward, reluctant to define myself, searching for valid questions, believing there are no firm answers.
I am content and happy.

Challenges faced as a mom to pursue my dreams:
I pursued my first MBA degree when my daughter was just an year old. It was really very difficult to take care of her, submit assignments, attend college, and prepare for exams. But then a will to complete earned me an MBA in IT. In 2005, I did my second MBA in HR so that I can manage my company better.
Running the business was not easy either. There were so many days when I wanted to quit. I could not take the pressure anymore, added to that guilt of leaving kids with care takers. Oh it was and is very, very difficult. But with a constant encouragement from my husband, who keeps telling me “give yourself just one more day, and then quit if you want to” whenever I plan to quit has worked like magic. Believe me, the pressure is not the same the next day. You will cool down and then work yourself a way out from the challenges, and this is where I am today.
