Eighth Month – The Baby knows your voice!
The third trimester continues, and your baby will grow more in the coming weeks (32 – 35). If you haven’t thought about it yet – it’s time to begin shopping for all the things you will need during and after your baby’s birth! Read more about the eighth month of pregnancy in the given table.

|You may gain 0.5kg weight every week!||The baby’s organs are now fully developed and she is becoming plump.||Take enough rest, more than previous months of pregnancy.||Eating foods rich in saturated fats should be limited but not completely avoided.|
|With the increased abdominal weight, you may find it difficult to sleep or walk around.||The baby is now about 44 cm in length and weighs around 2.5kg.||Sleep on your sides.||Iron and calcium rich foods should be included in your diet.|
|You may feel more anxious about your baby’s birth and may have dreams about it.||She will start collecting meconium (bowel) by consuming lanugo (which sheds at 32 weeks) and amniotic fluid.||Continue with Kegel and prenatal exercises as told by the OB/GYN.||As told earlier – Cook food in cast iron utensil to increase iron content in food.|
|You may feel your hands and feet swollen at times (edema).||The baby develops immunity.||Buy necessary items which you will need for yourself and your baby during and after childbirth.||Include as much variety of color in your vegetables and fruits as possible.|
|You can see your navel flattened out and the skin around the abdomen stretched and itchy.||She recognizes voices and difference between light and dark.||Keep applying ointment for relieving stretch marks.||Must eat veggies – spinach, broccoli, asparagus, tomatoes, carrots, and peas, beans (most green and yellow vegetables – rich in vitamins and minerals).|
|Linea Nigra is clearly visible and dark.||She will probably move in the position with the head towards the pelvis.||Do not scratch the abdominal skin if feels itchy. Apply a moisturizer which has cooling effect on skin.||Eat at least 3-4 different fruits every day.|
|Braxton Hicks contractions can also be felt more intensely now.||If born in this month, she has high chances of survival with medical support.||Relax, spend time with family and friends, listen to music and enjoy your pregnancy.||Keep some time difference (at least 2 hrs) between consuming iron rich foods and consuming milk or milk products.|
