Eating Unripe Mangoes
The popular sour taste of mangoes is used in preparing lip smacking chutneys, and a cool and refreshing drink (aam panna), and mango pickles. Mangoes (in form of powder) are also used in curries to add a distinctive sweet-sour flavor, or pieces of fresh sour mangoes are also cooked in gravy and eaten with rice or chapatis. Another Indian favorite is the sweet and sour mango bars (aam papad).
Eating Ripe Mangoes
Mangoes taste best when cool / chilled and freshly cut. They make great desserts and taste great with ice-cream. They taste great in a fruit salad, with yogurt, and of course they are a good ingredient for a shake or a smoothie.
It is better to eat the fruit rather than buying artificial flavor based (sugary) beverages and candies.
